Notes to my prof

I'm trying something new out. Instead of writing a final paper, I'm going to write a blog in the form of notes to my prof. Hope this works!

Assignment #3 beginnings

Hi Steve,

For our final assignment in the course, you ask us to "revisit [our] early reflections [from the first assignment] at a later point... to revisit [our] thoughts while concurrently holding in mind how implicitly and explicitly the course (readings and our discussions) sought to explore the same questions." (Alsop, 2010, p. 6). My first assignment for your class responded to the broad question: "Given compelling evidence of an ecological, sustainability crisis, how might/ should/ could/ can education(s) respond?" (Alsop, 2010, p. 6). However, after this term, I feel prepared to answer the more specific question: "Given the current ecological contexts, what insights does EE and ESD related research and practice provide that will help us?" (Alsop, 2010, p. 6).

This blog will serve as a both a reflection on my thoughts from late September, 2010, on Environmental Education and a catalog of my insights into my learning experience and breadth of knowledge from ED 5445/ ENVS 6141.

References will be provided in text and a reference list will be updated regularly at the bottom of the blog page.

regards,
-Jessica
